A nod to the work of George Nakashima and mid-century design generally. The cabinet is made primarily with Cherry harvested on the clients property in New Hampshire. The upper case is fully dovetailed and the cabinet back is frame and panel design (allowing the cabinet to function as a room divider and be viewed from all sides). The doors float effortlessly on shop made wooden slides and are backed with a raw linen fabric. The finish is hand-rubbed Schroeder varnish. In true Nakashima style, fissures and losses in the naturally harvested wood are secured with dutchmen (bowties) and wooden patches.
